Nothing wrong with using a Bosu Ball. Please use it properly and safely.
Don't worry, I was a Bosu Ball potato prior to getting Bosu Ball certified as part of continued personal training certification every year.
The Bosu Ball has a disclaimer on the bottom stating that the flat side is not recommended to stand on. There's tons of reasons for it other than just a liability waiting to happen.
If you stand on it (or sit on it), the platform flat side is placed on the ground.
You stand on the dome (or bladder) which works on ankle stabilization thus crazy core activation similar to trying to stand on a water bed.
Furthermore, it's easy to step on and off when using when the flat side is down which is extremely important. It should be easily to mount and dismount when losing your balance.
When you stand on the flat side you squish the dome - flattening it. It defeats the purpose. It is not a balance board.
I'm not trying to be the Form Police but it's my duty to share some knowledge - in a way hopefully you remember - with the use of alien zombie potatoes.
I could blame uneducated trainers or celebrity fitness model potatoes but it doesn't matter. It's what you do after you're informed.
And as a category 5 potato, I acknowledge my stupidity in many areas but not with the Bosu ball. lol.
I'm old school. Learn through ridicule.
Knowledge is power. Potato.
