Build Big Arms Using A Simple Principle

"Thunder! Thunder! Thunder Cats BROOOOOOOOOO!"

Worked on some shoulders 10 sets x 10 reps with Lion-Bro. Told many clients the key to bigger arms is bigger shoulders. The key to bigger shoulders is a bigger upper body. You don't see big tree branches growing from a small tree trunk. You don't see a big tree without a big root system (your lower body). Nature does not allow for such abnormalities. Nature favors balance. People worry about building bigger arms but forget the body is one muscle. Work the entire body and it will grow proportionally. That is why compound exercises always give you the most bang for your buck.

So I hit some arms with MumBra. After i hit my compound movements that's when i begin isolating my arms. Remember, the key to building bigger arms is hitting the biceps and triceps from all angles.

Workout: Thunderous Shoulders & Gun Show, Fri 3-July-2015

Workout Technique:

  • sets x reps; dumbbells (DB); barbells (BB)
  • Tempo (seconds) = (lowering, bottom hold, lifting, top hold); (1.0.1.0)= default
  • (↑) Pyramid Up; (↓) Pyramid Down/ Drop Set
  • Build up to work sets

Workout Program:

A1. BB Close Grip Bench Press: 5 x 8 reps ↑ (2.0.1.0)
A2. Pull Ups: 5 x 5 reps (2.0.1.0)

B. Cable Seated Lat Rows (increase 1 plate or 10lbs/ set): 6+ x 10 reps ↑

C. BB Shoulder Press (german volume training): 10 x 10 reps

D. DB 4-way Shoulder Superset (v-press, lateral raise, reverse fly, front raise): 4 x 84reps (2.0.1.0)

E. DB Hammer Curls (2 pumps at top) w/ fat grips: 3 x 8 reps (3.0.1.0)

F1. Cable (high) Bicep Curls L/R: 4 x 8 reps (3.0.1.0)
F2. Cable (high) Tricep Extensions L/R: 4 x 8 reps (3.0.1.0)

G1. Cable (low) Bicep Curls L/R: 4 x 8 reps (3.0.1.0)
G2. Cable (low) Tricep Extensions L/R: 4 x 8 reps (3.0.1.0)
