What Are You Running From?

I get often asked "Is running a good way to lose fat? Is running this or running that." Who wants to run anyways, only Forrest Gump. The long term effect of running on your body is disastrous.

You can reap the benefits of conditioning (1 hour of moderate running) by only running 3 sprints (30 seconds each) oh and 4 minutes rests in between. That's only 13 minutes and 30seconds via sprinting vs 1 hour of moderate running. Did I mention of that 13 minutes and 30 seconds you were resting for 12 minutes? Insanity! 25% of the time and only 10% of the work. Which would you rather do? You get the idea.

What is HIIT High Intensity Interval Training?

This method of training is called HIIT which stands for High Intensity Interval Training. High intensity work followed by a period of rest. It's a great way to build muscle and accelerate fat loss. You cannot shape your body through running. You'll burn the fat but you'll burn away your muscle mass. You'll become skinny fat as soft as a marshmallow or even worse a melted candle. Add sprints in your routine and weight train. Get sexy.

Chickens run from a fight

Now lets look at the psychological side of things. Chickens run from fights. Warriors sprint to them. Just think about it. Chickens run from fear. Warriors run towards it. Who would you rather be? Who would you rather look like? A clucking Chicken or a fuckin' Warrior?
